Allah prescribed fasting for all religions because it has many benefits. It brings about benefit for one’s stomach,and it also reminds one of the difficulties of the poor and destitute thus providing motivation to assist them.
All acts of worship that we do have benefits in them. For example, the obligatory charity facilitates giving a little money from the rich to the poor. In regards to prayer, we stand in front of our Lord and supplicate to Him.
In regards to fasting we benefit health-wise and realize the suffering of the poor.
Any difficulty that one faces while fasting will be compensated with good deeds. It’s evidence of our love & obedience for our Lord
Not everyone is required to fast—only those who are physically able to do so.
